Pre-match odds are set before kickoff and don't change once the match starts. Live odds update continuously as the match unfolds — a goal, a red card, or a shift in possession can move the odds within seconds.
Why the odds move so fast
Odds reflect the estimated likelihood of an outcome at that exact moment. A team trailing 0-1 with 10 minutes left has objectively less time to score than they did at kickoff — so the odds on them winning lengthen as the clock runs, and shorten sharply if they score.
What to watch for
- Odds can suspend briefly right after a goal or major incident, while the market recalculates — this is normal, not a glitch.
- A prediction made before kickoff can look very different by half-time — treat live odds as the current picture, not a contradiction of an earlier one.
- Slower connections can mean the odds you see are a few seconds behind — a real risk if you're betting right as something happens.
